Garbage Collection

Service

All trash collection in Springtown is performed by IESI, 940-328-1176.

TO ACTIVATE SERVICE, PLEASE CONTACT CITY HALL.

Residential Customers

IESI will provide each residential customer a 96 gallon trash cart. All trash must be placed in the trash cart to be picked up. The monthly fee for trash service is $14.04 which includes one trash cart. Customers that require an additional cart must contact City Hall. The cost for an additional cart is $6.50 per month.

Commercial Customers

Commercial service is exclusive to IESI and should be set up directly through IESI. To set up Commercial Trash service or Roll-Off service, please call 940-328-1176. The Fee Schedule for Commercial Service is available directly through IESI or you can request a copy of the fee schedule from the City of Springtown. Commercial customers that only require a 96 gallon trash cart should contact City Hall to establish this service.

Pick Up Time

Residential and Commercial hand pick up service is on Tuesday. Please place your trash out by the curb at 7:00 am.

Missed Trash

If you notice that your trash has not been picked up or has been missed, please call City Hall the next business day so that we can contact IESI and have them pick up your trash.

Bulk Item Pick Up

IESI will pick up most anything i.e. mattresses, dish washers, boxes, hot water heaters, refrigerators (CFC's must have been removed and must have sticker on item from a licensed Mechanical Service) and etc on the last Wednesday of each month. To have these items removed please call city hall prior between Monday and Friday so that we may notify IESI that these items will be at the curb.

Brush Pick Up

Every other Monday the City will pick up piles of brush that a resident has placed by the curb. Brush must be cut up in to manageable pieces. Please call City Hall to have your address added to the brush pick up list.

Citizen Bulk Trash Collection Center

Citizens are able to take bulk household waste to our new Citizen Collection Center. Citizens will first go to City Hall, located at 102 E. 2ndStreet to pay fees and schedule time to meet a member of Public Works at the site.

Accepted items include:
Appliances, mattresses, furniture, old carpet, metal, aluminum, iron, steel, and other bulky household items. Other items such as glass, paper, cardboard and plastic #'s 1, 5, and 7 will continue to be accepted at the recycle bin located at 501 Martin Drive, behind Brookshires.

Prohibited waste includes:
Commercial waste, hazardous waste, medical waste, household trash, liquids of any kind, paint, pesticides, fertilizer, antifreeze, Freon or anything containing Freon, fuel and fuel containers, closed containers, asbestos or radioactive material.

Fees for the Collection Center are:

30 gallon trash bag - $1.00 each
Shingles - $18.00 per cubic yard
Loose Trash and brush - $10.00 per cubic yard
Burn barrels (55 gallon) - $6.00 each
Appliances, no Freon (white goods) - $5.00 each

Recycling

The city currently has a recycle bin located at 501 Martin.
