Springtown Park Improvement Project
Expanding Recreation Opportunities for All Ages and Abilities
The City of Springtown is moving forward with a major improvement project at Springtown Park that will expand recreational opportunities, improve accessibility, and enhance amenities for residents and visitors.
The approximately $650,000 project is funded through a partnership between the City of Springtown and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, with approximately 50 percent of project costs funded through a competitive grant award received in 2025. The grant was awarded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund program, which supports the development and enhancement of public parks and recreational facilities throughout the nation.
Planning for the project began in 2024 as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to expand recreational opportunities and improve accessibility within its growing park system. Following the successful grant award in 2025, the project entered the design, planning, and procurement phase and is currently progressing through final engineering, permitting, and equipment acquisition.
Project Improvements
The project will further develop the City’s approximately 49-acre Springtown Park property and introduce several new amenities designed to serve residents of all ages and abilities.
Planned improvements include:
- An all-abilities playground designed to be accessible and inclusive for children of varying physical and developmental abilities
- Outdoor fitness equipment
- Soft-surface walking trails
- A permanent cornhole play area
- A putting green
- New site furnishings and gathering areas
- Interpretive and wayfinding signage throughout the park
The centerpiece of the project will be the all-abilities playground, which is intended to provide a recreational experience where children of all abilities can play together in a safe, engaging, and accessible environment.

The project supports the City’s broader goal of enhancing quality of life through expanded recreational opportunities while ensuring that public amenities remain accessible to all residents. The improvements will complement existing park facilities and help meet the growing recreational needs of the community as Springtown continues to grow.
In addition to providing new amenities, the project will improve accessibility, encourage active lifestyles, create additional opportunities for family recreation, and further establish Springtown Park as a destination for community gatherings and outdoor activities.
Project Timeline
- 2024: Project planning and concept development began

- 2027: Construction anticipated to begin and be substantially completed
