Youth Diversion Program
The Springtown Municipal Court Youth Diversion Program provides eligible juvenile defendants with an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, accept responsibility for their actions, and avoid the long-term consequences associated with traditional court proceedings. Rather than focusing solely on punishment, the program emphasizes accountability, education, personal growth, and community involvement.
Created in accordance with Texas law, the Youth Diversion Program is designed to help young people address the underlying causes of misconduct while developing the skills and resources necessary to make positive decisions in the future. Successful completion of the program allows eligible juveniles to resolve qualifying offenses without a conviction and without creating a criminal record.
Who Is Eligible?
The Youth Diversion Program is available to eligible juveniles between the ages of 10 and 16 who are charged with qualifying non-traffic Class C misdemeanor offenses and meet the eligibility requirements established by state law and the Municipal Court.
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis and participation is subject to approval by the Court.
Program Goals

- Personal responsibility

- Career exploration and goal setting
Counseling and Intervention Services
When appropriate, the Court may require counseling, assessments, treatment referrals, or other intervention services to address issues contributing to the offense and support long-term success.
Community Service
Participants may complete community service projects that benefit local organizations, public facilities, or community initiatives. Community service encourages accountability while helping youth develop a stronger connection to the community they serve.
Other Individualized Conditions
Additional requirements may be imposed when reasonably related to the offense and intended to support the rehabilitation and success of the participant.
