Shaping Springtown: Comprehensive Plan 2040

The City of Springtown is beginning an important long-range planning effort to help guide the community’s growth, development, and investment decisions for years to come. The City will be developing a new Comprehensive Plan, a roadmap that will help ensure Springtown continues to grow in a thoughtful, responsible, and resilient way.

This project is fully funded through grant funding provided by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and is expected to conclude with adoption of the final plan in late 2027.

What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A Comprehensive Plan is a long-term strategic document that outlines the community’s vision for the future and provides guidance for decisions related to land use, infrastructure, transportation, parks, economic development, and public investment. It helps ensure that future growth supports the health, safety, and welfare of the community while protecting the character and quality of life that residents value.

As part of this effort, the City will also update several important planning documents, including:

As part of the Comprehensive Plan process, all of the city’s critical infrastructure will be evaluated. This includes the city’s streets, water and sewer systems, drainage infrastructure, and more.

  • Master Thoroughfare Plan
  • Drainage Plan
  • Capital Improvement Plans
  • Zoning Map
  • Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances
  • Park Master Plan
  • Downtown Plan
  • and more.

Public Input

A key part of the comprehensive plan adoption process is public input. Feedback from our stakeholders will help us ensure that our long-term plans for the City continue to shape the community where they work, live, and play.

Public input can be provided by participating in town hall meetings and through the Shaping Springtown survey which is available here.

Those who complete the survey will receive a code which can be entered for a chance to win one of three (3) $100 Visa gift cards. Instructions to enter will be provided upon completion of the survey.

Be sure to check this page as well as the City’s Facebook page for updates related to future town hall and Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meetings. All CPAC meetings will be streamed online at cityofspringtown.civicweb.net.
