SH 199/FM TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE BEGINS AUGUST 11

Please see the information below from TxDOT regarding the upcoming traffic pattern switch related to the FM 51 project.
Drivers should expect delays and allow themselves extra time when commuting through the detour.
East and westbound SH 199 will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the area of FM 51 beginning August 11.
Additionally, FM 51 will not be accessible from SH 199 while this work is underway and FM 51 South will be closed at Texas Drive.
Traffic will continue to follow the signed Pojo Road detour to reach North FM 51.
Traffic will detour on Old Springtown Road to Texas Drive to reach South FM 51. Northbound drivers on FM 51 South will use Texas Drive and Old Springtown Road to access SH 199. A temporary stoplight has been installed at SH 199 and Old Springtown Road to facilitate this detour.
Local traffic will maintain access to South FM 51 within the work zone using Roberson Avenue. This access will be limited to those accessing a residence or business located within the closed portion of FM 51 South. Through FM 51 South traffic will not gain access to FM 51 via Roberson Avenue.
Wayfinding signs have been placed to direct traffic. The detour is estimated to be in place through winter.
