WEATHER PSA | HEAVY RAINFALL & FLOODING POTENTIAL – SEPTEMBER 30, 2026
- September 30, 2026
Residents should be weather aware over the next several days as periods of significant rainfall are possible across North and Central Texas.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch beginning at 4 p.m. today and continuing through Friday morning for portions of North and Central Texas, primarily along and west of I-35. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible across the watch area, with locally higher amounts.
While exact rainfall totals, locations, and impacts cannot be predicted with certainty, residents should be prepared for the possibility of localized flooding, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall. Creeks, drainage areas, low-lying locations, and low-water crossings may experience rapidly rising water.
TURN AROUND. DON’T DROWN. Please use caution when traveling. Avoid low-lying roadways and crossings that may become inundated. Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. Water may be deeper or moving faster than it appears, and roadway conditions beneath the water may be unknown.
The City of Springtown is actively monitoring available weather information and receives routine updates from the Parker County Office of Emergency Management. City staff will continue monitoring conditions throughout the weather event.
Residents are encouraged to remain weather aware and monitor reliable sources for changing conditions. Relevant local information and updates will be shared through the City’s social media pages and website and, when conditions warrant, through the Blackboard emergency notification platform.
Please take the opportunity now to prepare, remain alert, and use extra caution if heavy rainfall develops in our area.
