2nd Annual Super Steps for Super Pets

On Saturday, April 27, (rescheduled from April 20) join us for a dog-friendly 5K, followed by a silent auction fundraiser.

In addition to the race and the auction, the event will feature entertainment, food trucks, on-site microchipping, animals available for adoption from our shelter, information about low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine programs, a Q&A with our animal control staff, and much more.

The 5K will be open to participants of all ages and is dog-friendly. Those wishing to participate with their pets will have to provide proof of current vaccination to able to participate.

APRIL 18 UPDATE:

As we draw closer to Saturday’s event, we wanted to share some additional details.

• Rain date: In the event that the weather is not cooperating with us on Saturday (4/20) the makeup date for the event will be Saturday, April 27. A decision will be made either late Friday or early Saturday morning. Those registered for the race will receive an email notification in the event the race is rescheduled due to rain.

• Our silent auction is shaping up to be the best yet. So far auction items include, but aren’t limited to, 3 tickets to Dinosaur Land, 2 tickets to the Fort Worth Zoo, a $50 voucher to Rooftop Cinema, several gift baskets, and a barrel to capture rainwater.

• Signups are still ongoing and will continue through the morning of the event. Runners can sign up online at https://www.raceentry.com/races/super-steps-for-super-pets/2024/register or can sign up in person at City Hall (through Friday afternoon) or at the event. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9.

In addition to our 5K and silent auction, we will have a mobile pet groomer, and other pet-related services, several veterinarians, and food vendors.

Our animal control staff will also be on-hand with information about pet adoptions, foster and volunteer opportunities, and other general information about the shelter.
