City of Springtown awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by GFOA

The City of Springtown was awarded the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022.

The award is granted to governmental entities which go above and beyond the generally accepted accounting principles in order to aid in transparency and full disclosure. Springtown is one of 389 Texas entities to receive the award for the fiscal year ending in 2022.

City Administrator David Miller, at the January 25, 2023 City Council meeting while announcing the award, lauded staff and financial consulting firm Go Virtual CFO, LLC for not only compiling the document in such a way that GFOA designated the City of Springtown for the award, but also in their overall handling of the City’s finances.

The City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023 will be presented along with its annual audit report at the February 27, 2024 City Council meeting which begins at 7 p.m. at 200 N. Main Street, Springtown, Texas 76082. Meetings can also be streamed at cityofspringtown.civicweb.net.
