Springtown is home to a 33-acre park with amenities such as playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course. There is also a walking/jogging trail that winds through the park and passes by an area of creek bed which hosts a newly discovered set of dinosaur tracks.

Springtown Wildlife Tree Sculpture

Located near the Newby Pavilion in Springtown Park, the Springtown Wildlife Tree Sculpture is a unique piece of public art created by local chainsaw artist C.K. Roach from a tree that once stood in the park. Rather than removing the dead tree completely, the City chose to transform it into a lasting work of art that celebrates the natural beauty and wildlife of North Texas.

The sculpture features a variety of intricately carved animals and nature-inspired elements hidden throughout the trunk, encouraging visitors to walk around the piece and discover new details from every angle. Towering above the sculpture are majestic birds, including an eagle and cardinal, while smaller woodland creatures emerge from natural cavities within the tree. Delicate carvings of birds, leaves, and other natural features reflect the wildlife commonly found throughout the region.

This artistic transformation preserves a piece of the park’s history while creating an educational and interactive attraction for visitors of all ages. The sculpture serves as both a tribute to the life of the original tree and a reminder of the connection between art, nature, and community.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by the sculpture during their visit to Springtown Park, take a closer look at the craftsmanship, and see how many carved creatures they can find hidden within the tree. Located near the Newby Pavilion, the sculpture has become a favorite photo opportunity and a distinctive landmark within the park.

Park System Expansion

As part of two separate development agreements for two new subdivisions being annexed into the City of Springtown, the City now owns nearly 60 additional acres of parkland for future expansion.

Park Restrooms

Restrooms are open for the season every day from dawn to dusk.
