Springtown Public Library receives 2024 Texas Library System Accreditation

On Monday, September 18, 2023, the Springtown Public Library received notification that for the 33rd year, it has again been accredited as a member of the Texas Library System through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission has been authorized to accredit libraries since 1971, and the Springtown Public Library has been accredited for over 33 years. As an accredited library the library has access to any program through this agency that is made possible through federal funding. This includes statewide interlibrary loan (ILL), E‐rate, funding opportunities through competitive and non‐competitive grant programs and the TexShare Card and TexShare Database programs.
The City applauds the hard work and dedication of Library Director Andie D’Avignon and her staff throughout the accreditation process, as well as for maintaining the standards required to receive accreditation. As part of the accreditation process, the library’s serviced population was identified as 12,827, which far exceeds the City’s 2023 population of 3,750. The City takes pride in being able to offer library services to such a wide array of residents that extend far beyond our corporate limits.
